Day 2: Buenos Aires

buenos aires

If you feel like getting away from the hassle and bustle of the city head to the botanical gardens in Buenos Aires. Stroll around the gardens and look at the beautiful statues. Also you won’t have to worry about stepping in any dog poo as dogs aren’t allowed here (nothing against dogs but you will need to look at our 5 tips in Bunenos Aires to see why). One thing we found a bit annoying was you couldn’t get into the tropical conservatory (might have been just the day we were there).

Next off to the Buenos Aires Zoo. I love going to the zoos in different cities so the wife always gets dragged along. Now hopefully this doesn’t sound too bad but this zoo ‘could’ be awesome. Just little things here and there that could be improved. Buildings not being used, repairs not being done and hundreds of Capybara everywhere. Round up a few and release them back into the wild although it is all good to have a few around for the wow factor. Was it worth going? Yeah there is some cool stuff to see.

Then it was off to Post Street Bar for a few pre dinner drinks before we head to i Latina for dinner, Trip Advisors number one restaurant in Buenos Aires. First off, you can’t get into i Latina unless you have a reservation so make sure you book ahead for this. We had the 10 course dinner with wine pairing. I can tell you one thing, don’t have anything to eat beforehand (skip lunch). The service was awesome and just to top it off the chef comes out to thank you for visiting the restaurant.

Only let down to the night was the taxi driver ripping us off by driving around in circles but it was only 100 peso’s (about $10).
